Please read our terms and conditions. By taking lessons with L on Road Driving School you understand and agree to the terms and conditions on this page. In order to have driving lessons with L on Wheels Driving School Ipswich you must:
It is your responsibility to provide your instructor with proof that you have a valid licence to drive before the commencement of your first driving lesson. If you fail to provide this proof, your instructor is entitled to refuse to conduct the driving lesson but may still charge you for such a driving lesson.
We operate a 48 Hour Cancellation Policy, which enables us to offer the lesson to another pupil with plenty of notice to them.
If we have to cancel the lesson due to unforeseen circumstances, we will endeavour to inform you at the earliest opportunity. We do not cancel lessons lightly, as doing so results in a loss of income to the driving instructor. We would therefore request that should you have to cancel with less than 48 hours notice, you understand that the lesson has to be charged at full price.
We understand that life can get in the way, and things happen. If you cancel persistently, i.e. more than 3 times with, or without, giving 48 hours’ notice, we will have to remove you from my diary and offer your lesson to someone else on the waiting list.
Test Day Fee covers the usage of our vehicle for your test. The fee is £120. This includes a 1-hour warm-up driving lesson + covers the use of the car on the test day.
You cannot sell or transfer driving lessons which have been purchased in your name to any other person.
All lessons must be paid for in advance before the lesson commences, this can be done by by bank transfer, at least 3-4 days in advance.
If you wish to pay by bank transfer, the account details will be given upon request.
Please note, to benefit from the reduced prices on a block booking, the block must be paid for up front. Having e.g. 4 lessons without paying then paying for the block on the 5th lesson will not be an option.
If a block is paid for, lessons using the block payment, must be arranged within 6 months of payment. e.g. if you pay me for a block of 10 lessons on the 1st January, the lessons must be arranged or taken by 1st July. If you take 5 lessons and then decide to take a break, and we don’t hear from you for 6 months or more, the remaining lessons will be forfeited.
We will always endeavour to arrive on time to conduct the lesson, there are times however when, due to traffic, we may arrive late. If I am going to be 10 or more minutes late, we will call or text to let you know.
If you wish to finish the lesson at a location other than your pick-up address, please inform us, ideally before the lesson or at the start of the lesson, as it could affect the arrival time for the next pupil, therefore we may have to finish your lesson a little earlier.
At all times I will remain professional, courteous, and respectful and as such, I expect the pupils whom I teach to behave in the same way.
Abuse, either verbal or physical will not be tolerated and will be actioned upon immediately, by requesting that you leave the car to cool off, we will then terminate the lesson, take you home and no further lessons will be conducted.
If at any time you are not happy with any aspect of tuition, please bring this to our attention in order for me to put steps in place to rectify the issue.
Do not drink a large amount of alcohol the night before a lesson (no alcohol is ideal), you will still be over the limit at lunchtime the next day, if I suspect that you may be over the limit, for example if there is a smell of alcohol, we reserve the right to refuse to let you drive, if this does happen, you will be charged the full fee for the lesson.
Please also ensure that you are not under the influence of any drugs or prescribed medication which prohibits driving.
Smoking is not permitted in the car, this includes the use of any type of e-cigarette or vapour device, you are welcome to request a smoke break during your lesson, but you will have to exit the car.
All mobile phones and messaging devices must be switched (ideally) off or put on silent with no vibrate, this will minimise the distractions experienced whilst on your lesson.
Most reputable driving instructors are not keen on accepting new students who have a test approaching soon. When a student seeks a new instructor so close to their test, it is usually because their previous instructor has suggested that they postpone their test. It may also be difficult to find another driving instructor at short notice as good quality instructors have limited availability in their schedules.
If you are searching for an instructor to accompany you for your test in just five days, you may encounter difficulties. No reputable instructor will take you for your driving test without first observing your driving skills. If you do manage to find an instructor with unquestioning availability who is willing to take you for your test without assessing your driving abilities, you should question their credibility as an instructor.
Before making a booking or payment for a short-notice test, please be aware of the following terms and conditions:
WE CANNOT GUARANTEE TO TAKE YOU TO THE TEST AND WOULD NEED YOU TO TAKE LESSONS TO ASSESS IF YOU’RE TEST READY.
UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO TAKE LESSONS BEFORE THE TEST DATE PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT US
Please ensure that you inform me of any health issues which could affect your short-term ability to drive, e.g. panic attacks, asthma attacks, sudden migraines, severe anxiety etc.
Abuse, either verbal or physical will not be tolerated and will be actioned upon immediately, by requesting that you leave the car to cool off, we will then terminate the lesson, take you home and no further lessons will be conducted.
If at any time you are not happy with any aspect of tuition, please bring this to the instructors’ attention in order for to put steps in place to rectify the issue.
